Change Your Smile
Invisalign was initially developed with adult orthodontic patients in mind. Many adults would like to have straighter teeth and perfectly aligned bites. Yet, some of them are hesitant to wear braces into a boardroom (or nowadays, during a video conference). Invisalign clear aligners provide a discreet alternative.
This only matters if Invisalign works. After decades of use, we know that clear aligners have helped millions of people.
As we noted above, some people can complete this orthodontic treatment in as little as 12 months. It may take longer depending on the severity of your particular situation. Even so, Invisalign has been proven to help with all of these issues:
- Open bites
- Gaps between teeth
- Crooked teeth
Invisalign has proven to be an effective treatment for most patients. Talking to one of our doctors will let you know if you are a good candidate for this service.
How It Works
After your initial assessment, computer imaging software is used to design a series of custom-made aligners for you. These aligners are worn in sequence to keep your teeth move a little at a time.
You will need to wear each aligner for a few weeks before switching to the next one. You should wear your aligners for 22 hours each day. To put this another way, you can take your aligner for up to a couple of hours daily. This allows you to continue eating all the food that you love throughout your treatment.
With braces, you may have to avoid hard foods like nuts or the tortilla chips at your favorite Mexican restaurant. You also may need to avoid sticky foods, so they don’t get caught in your braces. Those kinds of foods can cause wires to bend or break or pull brackets off your teeth. With Invisalign, you won’t have that concern.
Enjoy Your New Smile
When you look in a mirror in the near future, we want you to see the smile of your dreams. We want you to feel confident posting pictures of your smile and to feel comfortable letting people see your teeth in person.
