Straight teeth can make all the difference when it comes to your smile. In fact, that may be all that stands between you and the smile of your dreams. The one factor that seems to hold many people from making the decision to go after the smile they want is not money but time.
Traditional braces are the tried-and-true method for straightening teeth. This process works well, with reliable, predictable results. That’s why it is still used with such regularity. The big issues with this dental treatment are not the results, but rather how it affects everyday life.
Traditional braces could take roughly two to three years to fix the alignment issues with your teeth. They are also very visible whenever you open your mouth. In a child’s world, this is an eternity. In an adult’s world, it is a personal inconvenience. The issue for adults is not time as much as the visibility. You may not be able to afford the look of braces in your professional life. Duffield Dentistry understands this and can help.Read Transcript
One thing that he did is he started Invisalign with me about two years ago. My teeth are actually smaller than my jawlines so I had really bad gaps. Obviously, there's a little discomfort. I just remember my sisters going through the old traditional orthodontics and not easy to brush your teeth, having the issue of not wanting to smile because you have these horrible things on your teeth. Invisalign if you're going out to eat, you just don't wear them. You can pop them off. I actually used denture cleaner on them so they were always clean. I didn't have to worry about any debris or anything like that. Again, when you're going from one size to the next, there is a little discomfort, but it's more tightness as opposed to real pain or anything like that's. So it's actually a really good system.
He's in the process of doing bonding. So he's actually done the top. He'll probably do the bottoms in about a month or so. He's willing to work with me as far as what my budget can accommodate as well as working with my insurance company. It's just the fact that he's very personable and very easy going and he listens to my concerns and what's realistic for me. He actually works with what my ultimate needs are.
Invisalign Clear Braces
Duffield Dentistry offers Invisalign clear braces to help with your smile issues. This revolutionary alignment system will allow you to straighten your teeth with almost no visible signs to those around you. No metal braces, adjustment appointments, or food restrictions.
How Does Invisalign Work?
The first thing that you will do is to schedule an appointment with Dr. Duffield. This is where he will go over all of your options with you. If Invisalign is the option you decide on, Dr. Duffield will then take an impression of your teeth.
From here, he will lay out a plan for fixing your smile using a series of clear Invisalign aligner trays. These aligners are custom-made and will gently move your teeth into proper alignment. You will receive a number of different aligners and will wear each aligner for roughly two weeks before moving to the next aligner in the series. Each aligner will incrementally move your teeth until your smile is perfectly straight. Dr. Duffield works closely with an orthodontist to ensure your smile is taken care of.Read Transcript
Invisalign can be life changing. The nice thing about Invisalign is nobody knows you're wearing Invisalign. One of my staff right now has Invisalign on and I didn't even know she had Invisalign on. Invisalign is actually a very thin, clear plastic tray and what it is is you wear a tray for two weeks. The tray moves the tooth just a little bit and then you wear another tray and it's a series of 20, 30, 40 trays. So what happens is each tray moves the tooth a little bit, a little bit, a little bit until the point where everything is straight and uncrowded. Most patients who do Invisalign are adults. So they're really quite appreciative and quite thrilled with the results.
What You Need To Know About Invisalign
There are several advantages of Invisalign over traditional braces. The first one is that they are nearly invisible. The people you work with or see while you’re out of the house will not be able to tell that you are using an alignment treatment.
Another advantage is that they are easy to clean and maintain. You can take them out and brush your teeth just as you normally would. You can clean your Invisalign tray at the same time, then put it back into place and you are off. This takes only slightly longer than your normal routine did before Invisalign. There are also no eating restrictions with Invisalign.
